This property is truly one of the best vacation rentals I’ve stayed in! Not only is the view beautiful and the house what we needed for a family of 5, but the owners had clearly thought through everything we might need or want to know, and provided it, from spices, dishes, and kitchen supplies (ziplock bags! tape! tin foil!) to helpful labels and a “useful information” placard and binder. I loved looking through the bookshelves full of books and we enjoyed the games, and my kids thought the little Harry Potter themed bunk bed nook was THE COOLEST thing ever. An outdoor hot water sprayer and a bench for washing our feet after the beach? Perfect. A timer controlled gas fireplace- clever and cozy. Lots of little things like that that added up to a fabulous stay. I’ve stayed in lots of vacation rentals but this one may just be my favorite. <br/><br/>A heads up for Dillon Beach newbies like us: Dillon Beach is pretty remote! Stop by somewhere on the way to grab your groceries- like maybe Petaluma? There’s not much of a normal grocery store in Dillon Beach or Bodega Bay to be found and what’s there is VERY expensive!

My family was seeking a place to unwind and reconnect without the stress of work and current events. The Lookout at Dillon Beach was the perfect setting to do just this. The moment we walked in the door and the panoramic ocean view greeted us, it felt like pounds of stress were lifted from our shoulders. We have three active kids and the Lookout was well equipped to handle their energy and joyful spirit without me having to worry about wrecking something.<br/>The house was light, bright, welcoming, and fully stocked with everything needed to allow us to cook, do laundry, and rinse off after spending the day on the shore. <br/>Walking to the beach from the home is so easy our 4 year old ran back and forth several times without complaint. <br/>We loved our experience so much, that the only way we were able to leave was to book another week for next year so we knew it was just a “see you later”, and not “goodbye.”<br/>

The view was spectacular, and we enjoyed having a glass of wine on the deck in the evening watching the sunset. The home had a few problems that were an inconvenience. <br/>1. Missing screens on several of the upstairs windows. It was very warm during our stay, and we couldn't open the windows to enjoy the breeze because there were lots of yellow jackets that kept flying in.<br/>2. The dehumidifier was not emptied prior to our stay and resulted in a musty smell downstairs that took a day to clear out. The house needs either 2 or a larger dehumidifier.<br/>3. Porch light was broken. We called the property manager, and she wasn't able to get it repaired.

The Lookout was a wonderful place to stay, spectacular views of Dillon Beach from the moment you walk into the home. Love the bright cheery kitchen complete with everything you need for meal prep. Comfortable sitting room, games, bedrooms were nice, downstairs bedroom had its own sitting area, bathroom and bunks. We enjoyed our stay

We had a wonderful stay. The kitchen is very well equipped and the view is wonderful. We would definitely return. Our only issue was check in. We were provided an incorrect lock box code, so waited outside in the cold, fog and wind for 45 minutes while trying to resolve it over the phone. The manager was very responsive, but it took them a while to figure out that they had recently changed the lockboxes.

Really lovely spotless house that accommodated grandparents, kids, grandkids. Stunning ocean views from the upstairs deck. Gorgeous sunsets. The view can be enjoyed from the open well equiped kitchen, dinning room,comfy living room though the large windows and sliding glass doors. The upstairs level, bedroom, shower,bathroom,worked well for us older folks because we could park right by the front doors which only had a few stairs. The lower driveway had a steep stairs to the side door. The downstairs worked for the rest of the family, bunk beds, bedroom, bathroom with a tub for the littles and tv for the teens. We went to the beach everyday, rented surfboards from the cute general store right down the hill on the way to the beach. Cute casual restaurant there too. Beach is walkable for the young and strong. Hubby and I took the car and if you have lots of beach stuff you need the car to get back up the hills. Wish we had a parking pass for the beach $10 for the day for the car. We went down CA 1 South to explore and it was twisting turningly beautiful fun. Stopped for lunch at Marshall on the water it was delicious. We had a couple hiccups but Wine Country answered the phone and were super responsive. The owner of the house even went out his way to fix the problem. We had an awesome CA vacation with our family. Rent the house, surf the waves, enjoy the family, sit in the Adirondack chairs, drink wine enjoy the sunset.

My criticism: "Check Out Procedures" which sounded like rules posted in a dorm kitchen,requiring guests who have already paid a cleaning fee to dump garbage, sweep up and wash and put away dishes are excessive. As annoying as this was, none of it could take away from the great time we had.

This newly renovated bungalow has just about everything you need- dishes, cookware, spices, coffee, food wrap, storage bags, books, games and so much more. The view of the ocean from the upper floor is spectacular! There is one drawback, and that is the lower level is cold. The electric fireplace does heat up the living room after a while. We used a space heater that was provided, in front of the downstairs bathroom. The TV, which is located downstairs, is a bit too small and positioned high over the fireplace, which made for difficult viewing. Everything else was wonderful! The walk on the beach was fabulous.

The Lookout is a lovely home ideally located a very short walk (~5min) from a dog friendly beach and between Bodega Bay and Point Reyes Station. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds quite comfortable, and the views are stunning. The property management folks very promptly responded to all questions. I would definitely recommend.

A great getaway for me, my bestie, and our two dogs. House was clean, with everything we needed--but the house, downstairs especially, gets chilly in winter, be sure to find the space heater. <br/>We chose this place for the view, and it didn't disappoint. Gorgeous sunset, sound of the waves, fresh sea air. Perfect. And a short walk to the beach for all the leash-free fun our pups could ask for!<br/>I would recommend that the info provided include a better description of where the driveway is (on the lower street), as we had some trouble figuring out where to park. A small matter, but it required a call to the mgmt company (who were very helpful).

The property is absolutely as presented in the pictures. GREAT view. Kitchen is completely stocked with spices, pots etc for any sort of cooking. It is by far the cleanest, most immaculately kept rental I have ever stayed in worldwide (and I've stayed in a LOT). I'd love to have their cleaner for my house... Would definitely stay again.

We happened to pick a time when we had the worst storm in northern California. The property management company sent emails preparing us for the weather. We arrived without power, but it was restored within a few hours. Spent one day inside due to storms, but if you had to be somewhere with horrible weather, this is the place to be. By the third day, it was lovely. Great house and neighborhood. Everyone was very friendly and the house was well-equipped. Wifi was fast enough for me to attend a court hearing remotely for work. Will definitely come back to one of your houses in teh future. <br/>

We had a wonderful stay in Dillon Beach, in this beautiful rental house. The view is captivating, the moment you walk in. It was almost better relaxing at the house with the view than being at the actual beach! We stayed with our baby and dog, and it was nice to be able to feel like we were at the beach the whole time. Only complaint would be the bed was uncomfortable for the overall price of the property, we would expect better. Thank you for being dog friendly!

Beautiful. Charming. Great location. Lots of unique personal touches throughout the home which makes you feel at home. The views from the deck are first class. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare great meals. Really, everything is accounted for here. The only minor drawback were the somewhat loud/squeaky beds that weren’t the most comfortable. Truly a minor point in my book but I know bed comfort is important to many. Would still recommend to everyone. Thanks for a great stay.

This is such a cute charming home and very close to the beach! The dogs really enjoyed their walks down there! Loved seeing deer stroll through the neighborhood and one stayed right on our front porch! Perfect for a little weekend getaway with the family! Would definitely stay here again!

After a long year of cancelled plans, we decided we needed a little getaway by the beach. It was our first visit to Dillon Beach and we absolute loved it! The Lookout was comfortable and warm and a very short walk to the beach. My teenagers were comfortable and we had lots of space to relax and enjoy our stay! Kayaking on Tomales Bay, learning to shuck oysters in Bodega Bay, morning walks on the beach with the dog, amazing sunset views! A kitchen fully stocked with all the cutlery, dishes, glassware! Great linens! And we loved learning about the history of the home and the renovations! Highly recommend this spot to others! Thank you!

Amazing home with ocean views! 10/10!

We had a pleasant family "beach week" at "The Lookout" - the main floor of the house is bright and fresh, renovations have been nicely done on the main level.<br/><br/>The biggest disappointment was with the bed - it was extraordinarily creaky, the mattress was not particularly comfortable and pillows were lumpy. I would not hesitate to return if it weren't for this flaw.
